Sometimes customers need access to shell for a variety of reasons, some being:
- Run MySQL commands
- Debugging
- Running cleanup scripts
- Transferring files from one server to another at very high speeds
- Installation of software
- and others
While we never offer full shell access as that is a major security issue, we may offer Jailed Shell. Jailed shell access provides shell access limited only to your home account. No access is granted to the entire system.
Access to jailed shell can be requested from Support. When requesting access, please advise what it is you wish to do with such access.
Jailed shell access is ONLY available to customers hosting on cPanel accounts who have good reason for needing this access.
